UCW-CWA has been fighting for better wages and working conditions at the University since the year 2000. We are an organization made up of University and other state employees dedicated to proactive discussion and action around crucial issues affecting state workers.

Membership in UCW-CWA provides the benefits of union representation and assistance on grievances as well as other benefits available to all CWA members.

You can join by coming to a meeting or event, printing out and mailing in an application, or just give us a call or e-mail and we'll get in touch.

Monthly Dues:
Full-time workers - $11.00
Part-time workers - $5.50

If you are signed up for automatic dues deduction, your full monthly dues will be deducted from your checking account on the first payday of each month.

Spouses/partners of members and retirees are also welcome and pay dues at the part-time rate.

Eligibility & Jurisdiction

UCW-CWA's jurisdiction is every public university and college in Tennessee. We are currently actively organizing on the University of Tennessee campuses in Knoxville and Chattanooga. But our goal to provide organization for all public employees that work within the Tennessee Higher Education Commission District - at public institutions that fall under the Board of Regents and University of Tennessee systems. Check out the THEC website for a full listing of these institutions. The only institutions under the THEC that we are not currently organizing are the "independent" or private institutions.

Ultimately, there are no restrictions on membership within the UCW-CWA. If you believe in the issues we are fighting for and want to support our organization, get in touch!
